Impossible is Just a Word

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011

Hello Friends,

I trust you had a wonderful day today. It is always a blessing to end my day with you.

I have said no politics in this blog, didn’t I? I have one thing to say tonight. We could shake them all up and throw them out with the dish water. Then start over. That’s ALL!

Have you ever wanted something very bad then thought about it for awhile, ended up saying that is just impossible for me. It isn’t!
Everyone, at some point of his or her life, has dreamed of being somebody special, somebody big.
Who hasn’t fantasized about being the one who hits the game-winning homer? Who hasn’t
dreamed of being the homecoming queen? And how many times have we dreamed of being rich, or successful, or happy with our relationships?

Often, we dream big dreams and have great aspirations. Unfortunately, our dreams remain just that – dreams. And our aspirations easily collect dust in our attic.

This is a sad turn of events in our life. Instead of experiencing exciting adventures in self actualization, we get caught up in the humdrum of living from day-to-day just barely existing. But you know what? Life could be so much better, if only we learned to aim higher. The most common problem to setting goals is the word impossible. Most people get hung up thinking I can’t do this. It’s too hard. It’s too impossible. No one can do this.

However, if everyone thought that, there would be no inventions, no innovations, and no breakthroughs in human accomplishment. Remember that scientists were baffled when they took a look at the humble bumblebee. Theoretically, they said, it was impossible for the bumblebee to fly. Unfortunately for the bumble, bee no one has told it so. So fly it does.

On the other hand, some people suffer from dreaming totally outrageous dreams and not acting on them. The result? Broken dreams, and tattered aspirations.

If you limit yourself with self-doubt, and self-limiting assumptions, you will never be able to break past what you deem impossible. If you reach too far out into the sky without working towards your goal, you will find yourself clinging on to the impossible dream.

Try this exercise. Take a piece of paper and write down some goals in your life. Under one header, list down things ‘you know you can do’. Under another header, write the things ‘you might be able to do.’ And under one more, list the things that that are ‘impossible for you to do.’

Now look at all the headers strive every day to accomplish the goals that are under things ‘you know you can do’. Check them when you are able to accomplish them. As you slowly are able to check all of your goals under that heading, try accomplishing the goals under the other header-the one that reads ‘you might be able to do.’

As of the items you wrote under things I could do are accomplished, you can move the goals that are under things that are ‘impossible for you to do’ to the list of things ‘you might be able to do.’

As you iterate through this process, you will find out that the goals you thought were impossible become easier to accomplish. And the impossible begin to seem possible after all.

You see, the technique here is not to limit your imagination. It is to aim high, and start working towards that goal little by little. However, it also is unwise to set a goal that is truly unrealistic.

Those who just dream towards a goal without working hard end up disappointed and disillusioned.

On the other hand, if you told someone a hundred years ago that it was possible for man to be on the moon, they would laugh at you. If you had told them that you could send mail from here to the other side of the world in a few seconds, they would say you were out of your mind. But, through sheer desire and perseverance, these impossible dreams are now realities.

Thomas Edison once said that genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Nothing could be truer. For one to accomplish his or her dreams, there has to be had work and discipline. But take note that that 1% has to be a think-big dream, and not some easily accomplished one.

Ask any gym rat and he or she will tell you that there can be no gains unless you are put out of your comfort zone. Remember the saying, “No pain, no gain”? That is as true as it can be.

So dream on, friend! Don’t get caught up with your perceived limitations. Think big and work hard to attain those dreams. As you step up the ladder of progress, you will just about find out that the impossible has just become a little bit more possible.

LIVE YOUR DREAM!!

Until Next Time,

Setting Performance Goals

Friday, June 10th, 2011

Hello Friends,

Has this been one of your better days?
Every day is one day closer to summer. With all of the fun things
to look foreword to. Also if you have a job are healthy and have your home and family. You are fortunate. I am happy to be here with you tonight as always.

Have you been setting goals? How are you doing with achieving
your goals? One way of keeping them in your mind, get a
Post-it,write down your goal. Put them up all over your house.
On the mirror in the bathroom, on the fridge. on cabinets.
Any place you can think of as a reminder.

Setting performance goals is essential in achieving your goals. This is where you put all the factors in place, to make sure that a general goal is achievable and doable. However, depending on what kind of goal is your general or ultimate goal, there are a few variations that you can use in setting the performance goals.

First is when the goal involves personal, professional, career or other choices that are in line with “upgrading yourself”.

If you’re working on your personal improvement, it is important that you come up with step-by-step procedure on how to achieve your major goal. This step-by-step procedure is to be broken down further into smaller steps, so that monitoring the progress of the minute detail plan is possible almost on a daily basis.

With each step, a set of performance or actions to be taken should be put in place. These steps or actions are needed to be assessed, updated and once in while revised. The logic is that, your goal, specific as it is, is bound to face some resistance.

The resistance can come in the form of some people who will be affected by your performance goal, or other entity. This is not to say, however, that your goal is something wicked, but it is only an acknowledgment that other people have also their own goals.

These conflicting interests can be beneficial in many cases. With your constant interaction with other people, you may come across with ideas that haven’t entered your realization earlier. The performance of these people, moreover, can be very beneficial to you. Their experiences might shed some light on things that continue to baffle you in the first place.

Your colleagues’ experiences in the workplace can be a rich source of knowledge in terms of performance assessment. Of course, you will not poke into their private lives even in informal talks, or even in jest, as they may reveal some development on their personal career.

Performance goal in the company

If you’re an executive or officer of a company, part of your responsibilities will include setting performance goals. This work can be trickier than you might think because this would entail setting a performance for the company that the employees will accept as their own.

The connection and relationship between the company’s long term goals might not appear to compliments even the employees’ short term goals.  The connection should be made apparent right from the start.

Just like your personal or professional goal setting, the process of setting performance goals for the employees should begin with the listing down of the company or organization’s need.

And if on the personal level, you consider it important to converse with yourself, how much more for the employees and the company that they are working with? This means that constant communication is important.

It is also important to note that this responsibility is not done after the first meeting. Dialog between the employees or employees with the other officers of the company should be continuous and not a one day affair.

This may entail hard work but you should remember that setting performance goals for the company through the workers will help the company in achieving its ultimate goal. The process also will help the company, as a whole, to remain strong, if not to
survive.

Until Next Time

BE GOOD TO YOURSELF, STAY HEALTHY AND HAPPY!!!

Creating and Starting an Online Business

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011

Hello Friends

I trust you are having a wonderful day.

If you are alive and breathing, it’s a wonderful day (8-)

Are you ready to make a change in your life?  Maybe an

Online business could be the answer. There has never been a better time. The internet is wide open. Think of all the possibilities.

;

With a at Home Business, there is no traffic to fight. You pick your own hours. Spend more time with your family. Being your own boss can be very satisfying.

Today we will talk about creating and starting an online business, we are going to look at different ways of creating an online business for you.

There are many different online businesses that you can start but most of them come down to three broad categories which are: selling products or services to retail customers, selling on eBay, and business-to-business selling.  When you are looking at creating and starting an online business, you’ll want to look at what your specialty is in creative business around one of these three broad categories.

If you decide that you want to sell to retail customers, you will have to find a way to sell your products or services in a different manner than many of the other retail websites out there. If you decide that you want to sell on eBay, you’ll want to find a wholesale distributor of products where you can buy your products at a great discount. If you already work within the business-to-business forum, this will be an easy transition for you.

Each of these three categories can be broken into but you must decide upon which of the three will focus.  Many people will decide to start an online business but have no idea where they should focus their efforts.  By focusing your efforts on one of these three categories, you’ll know in which direction to start. If you decide to start with eBay, look for a wholesale distributor where you can buy your products of the great discount.  This is most effective for many startups because you do not have to buy the products in you can worry about selling online to people who want your product.

The people who want your product will be the ones who are bidding so that you know exactly what they want when the auction is over. To find some wholesale distributors for you, look at the following website: www.worldwidebrands.com. If you decide that you want to sell products or services to retail customers, try and find a niche that is undeserved by you and your Internet competitors right now.

When creating and starting an online retail business you want to find an area where there is little competition that you can dominate. To find some of these undeserved niches, visit the following website: www.findhotniches.com.

Finally, if you decide that you want to do business to business selling, figure out how you can provide benefit to the particular market that you want to go after. Many people work online as freelance writers and you are able to do this and potentially differ yourself from the competition if you market to one particular niche. Business-to-business selling is similar to the retail strategy in that you want to focus upon a niche and try and dominate that niche.

Hopefully this article on creating and starting an online
business gives you an idea on which of the three areas you
would like to focus on.

That’s all for this time, Much, more to come

Container Gardening Tips for Newbies

Sunday, May 8th, 2011

Hello Friends,

I trust you all had a wonderful day. Tomorrow is Mothers Day, Don’t
Forget we had a very windy day here, terrible bad allergies (8-(
Maybe tomorrow will be better.
If the text is to dark for you I am very sorry, I am losing my eyesight to Macular Degeneration, so if it isn’t dark enough I am unable to see what

I am writing. If I lose my eyesight, I have already lost my hearing. I have had so many surgeries I am half robot now. At eighty one when I wake up I thank God
That he has given me another beautiful day to enjoy.

Now for today’s subject It’s more for the newbie’s this time. Everyone can have a garden. Even if you living in a duplex. You can have a container garden (8-0.

Container Gardening Tips for Newbie’s

Container gardens can create a natural sanctuary in a busy city
street, along rooftops or on balconies. You can easily accentuate
the welcoming look of a deck or patio with colorful pots of annuals,
or fill your window boxes with beautiful shrub roses or any number
of small perennials. Whether you arrange your pots in a group for a
massed effect or highlight a smaller space with a single specimen,
you’ll be delighted with this simple way to create a garden.

Container gardening enables you to easily vary your color scheme,
and as each plant finishes flowering, it can be replaced with another. Whether you choose to harmonize or contrast your colors, make sure there is variety in the height of each plant. Think also of the shape and texture of the leaves. Tall strap-like leaves will give a good vertical background to low-growing, wide-leaved plants. Choose plants with

a long flowering season, or have others of a different type ready to replace them as they finish blooming.

Experiment with creative containers. You might have an old porcelain bowl or copper urn you can use, or perhaps you’d rather make something really modern with timber or tiles.  If you decide to buy your containers ready-made, terracotta pots look wonderful, but tend to absorb water. You don’t want your plants to dry out, so paint the interior of these pots with a special sealer available from hardware stores.

Cheaper plastic pots can also be painted on the outside with water-based paints for good effect.  When purchasing pots, don’t forget to buy matching saucers to catch the drips. This will save cement floors getting stained, or timber floors rotting. Always use a good quality potting mix in your containers. This will ensure the best performance possible from your plants.

If you have steps leading up to your front door, an attractive pot plant on each one will delight your visitors. Indoors, pots of plants or flowers help to create a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.

Decide ahead of time where you want your pots to be positioned, the buy plants that suit the situation. There is no point buying sun lovers for a shady position, for they will not do well. Some plants also have really large roots, so they are best kept for the open garden.

If you have plenty of space at your front door, a group of potted plants off to one side will be more visually appealing than two similar plants placed each side. Unless they are spectacular, they will look rather boring. Group the pots in odd numbers rather than even, and vary the height and type. To tie the group together, add large rocks that are similar in appearance and just slightly different in size. Three or five pots of the same type and color, but in different sizes also looks affective.

With a creative mind and some determination, you will soon have a container garden that will be the envy of friends and strangers alike.

I hope this will help you get started on a wonderful journey working with a beautiful yard, flowers and plants.

Until Next Time

Finding Drought Resistant Trees

Thursday, April 28th, 2011

Hello Friends,

I trust you are having a wonderful week. Is everything going the way you want it to go? We work so hard on make things just right, when they go wrong it’s really a bummer but that’s when we just pick up and keep going.  It’s time for beautifying our yards. Seems as though everything is waking up now many flowers and trees are blooming it is disappointing the flowering trees don’t last long enough. They are beautiful while they last.

We have something maybe you could help us with. We have a tree/bush   I’m not sure which it is full of bloom which lasts all season; in the fall you have to bring it indoors. The name on the card is Bangabilia. I have been researching online in Libraries nurseries worldwide I have checked everything I can think of.   Does anyone out there know about this little jewel? I am really baffled. I thought perhaps it was the wrong spelling I tried Bangadilia.  I can’t believe there is no one who knows anything about this. We would like to know the care of it.

If you live in an area that is slightly parched of water, you know better than anyone that one of the things that the care whether a tree survives or not is your ability to supply it with sufficient water. Unfortunately, many people don’t take this in to account when buying a tree. They will just go for the nicest looking tree, and then wish they could give it more water. If you do a little planning before you rush out and buy a tree, you should be able to find trees that can survive on lower amounts of water.

Usually the most adaptable plants are the ones that are indigenous anyways. If you live in a zone that is suffering a water crisis, usually the only plants that survive are the ones that have been there all along. This is because they are used to the conditions and know how to survive. Just take a drive through the undeveloped regions of your city, and look at what trees are green. Find out their names, and buy them. They might not be the most attractive trees, but you rarely have to make any modifications to your soil to get them to grow.

One of the trees that will grow almost anywhere without using much water is the “Scotch Pine”. Not only does it grow at a very fast rate of 20 or more inches per year, it is hardy and drought tolerant. It usually grows between 25 and 35 feet, and it extremely easy to get started. Most nurseries sell these trees, especially in areas with lower amounts of water. There are many varieties available. Many fade to a yellowish brown color during the colder months, and this is usually what causes some people to dislike them and others to love them. However, there are varieties available that do not do this.

The Rocky Mountain Juniper is an extremely hardy and easy to grow tree. Its bark also turns a browner color during the winter, and rejuvenates in late spring. They are frequently used as windbreaks because of how tough they are. These trees are also great if you are trying to attract different varieties of birds to your yard. They provide great branches to nest in. Unfortunately the Rocky Mountain Juniper doesn’t grow as fast as other hardy plants like it. The rate is less than 10 inches per year.

Another one of the most popular drought resistant trees is the Russian Olive. This tree is impressive and will definitely turn some heads once it is fully grown. It is more decorative than the trees mentioned above, and will reach 20 or 25 feet once it is fully grown. They are able to grow in almost any soil, and attract birds with the berries they produce.

As you can see, there are many options for you if your water is limited. There are many others that I have not mentioned, and depending on your area you may be able to find a preferable variety. Do a Google search for hardy plants that will survive in your area, and you should be presented with a large list. If you can’t find that list, just go outside and see what is currently flourishing. That is the best indication of what you should buy.

Affiliate Marketing Newbie

Saturday, April 23rd, 2011

Hello Friends,

Greetings from the Beautiful Pacific Northwest.

The temperature drops and the wind machines are turned up. Irrigation is turned on and maybe some heat turned up to keep the fruit buds from freezing. The farmers had  several sleepless nights this week.  It dropped as early as ten o’clock that makes for a long expensive night.

They work all day and all night also, when that happens. Unless people are around Farmers/farming they really don’t appreciate all the work that goes into getting the
Fruit and vegetables to market and in our homes.
Be Good to the Farmers 8-D

I hear many people say Affiliate marketing is the easiest and fastest way to make money on line. Here’s Some Advice for the Affiliate Marketing Newbie

Are you an affiliate marketing newbie? Whether new or experienced, there are some tips of the trade that you should follow.

First of all, the lure of working from home in your pajamas with nothing but a computer is almost too much to bear. In fact, more and more people are trying their hand at affiliate marketing exactly for this reason. But in order to be successful in your efforts, you do need to spend time and at least a little bit of money. It is hard work, so be prepared.

If you are an affiliate marketing newbie, start out promoting something that you are familiar with and, even better, something that interests you. As you get more experienced, this aspect will not be quite so important — you will be able to promote things that you know nothing about or care nothing about and still be successful — but in the beginning, it helps to start with something that you will be committed to as you go through your learning curve. Keep in mind that taking this route may not end up as the best converting method or gain you the highest commissions, but it will be easier for you to build a website and to stick with what you are working on

When you do get your site up and running (and, by the way, a Word Press blog is a very fast and way to establish a reputable website), promote more than just one product in the same niche. This also gives your visitors a choice and allows you to track which products are selling more or less.

Always remember the tried and true saying: content is king. “Contents sites” are the ones that offer educational, instructional and topical content about whatever it is they are promoting. And the best of these types of sites actually make the promoted product or service seem like an afterthought. This is another reason that it is easier if you are new to affiliate marketing to start with something you are familiar with and/or interested in. While content is important, your main goal is to drive visitors to the sales of your affiliate products, so make it as easy as possible for them to get there.

Do not give up. There is a lot to learn when it comes to affiliate marketing and it takes a lot of work in the beginning. It’s also important to keep up with rules and regulations that change in the field of affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing revenue can end up being passive (meaning you don’t have to do anything to earn it), but it takes a while to get to this point. Most people will take months even to make enough money to cover costs. Keeping these tips in mind when you are an affiliate marketing newbie will help you in achieving a profitable status.

Growing Organic Vegetables in Containers Outside

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

Hello Friends,

Growing organic vegetables is so rewarding that it is always worth doing even if you only have a small space for containers outside. You may have a roof garden or a small patch of concrete to call your own. That is fine. You do not need a big garden with beds to benefit from the pleasure of being able to cook, serve and eat your own delicious home grown vegetables.

The good news is that almost any type of vegetable can be grown in containers. Of course, what you plan to grow needs to be adapted to how many containers you have and how big they are. But many vegetables now come in dwarf plant sizes.

If you want to be sure of growing organic vegetables, of course you need to check that your chosen varieties are available as organic seeds. Then set up your containers with organic compost.

In most cases you will start by planting in seed boxes indoors. Then when seedlings have formed, choose the strongest and healthiest to plant out in your containers.

Your plants will benefit from being well nourished. For some plants, like tomatoes, you can buy organic fertilizer or food that you can add to the soil in the containers from time to time. For others, it is enough to add more compost at the end of the season.

Even if you want to keep growing the same plants over and over, it is best to rotate them around your different containers each year. That way, you will benefit from improved soil fertility without having to change the compost every time. You can also rotate plants by growing one crop in for half the year and a different crop for the other half year. This also has the benefit that you can be growing organic vegetables all the year and make the most of your containers.

You do not have to limit yourself to growing one type of plant per container. You can also gain space by mixing herbs or other small plants around your larger vegetables. Just be sure that they will not be shaded when the larger plants grow.

Upward growing plants like tomatoes or green beans are ideal for this purpose. For example, you can grow tomatoes at the back of a container and have cucumber, radishes or even small lettuces at the front for a self-contained salad garden.

Other plants that grow well in containers include eggplant (aubergine), especially small varieties like Bambi no or Slim Jim; bell peppers, small squashes and green onions (spring onions).

You can use many types of containers for growing organic vegetables. You do not have to go buy expensive pots. You probably want to avoid plastic containers if you are growing organic vegetables, to avoid chemicals leaking into the soil, but there are many other options. Wooden containers are perfect and give a great organic look to your garden space. Wire tubs or baskets have the advantage of allowing drainage without you having to drill holes.

Dark colors absorb heat, so if you live in a hot, sunny climate you might want to paint the outside of your containers white. Plants expect to grow in a situation where the roots below ground are cooler than the stalks and leaves, and they may simply die if the soil in your containers becomes too hot.

Plants in containers need more frequent watering than plants growing in the ground. In summer, you may need to arrange for somebody to come water your plants any time you are away, even if it is only for a few days.

Keeping all of these tips in mind will help you enjoy delicious and healthy food from your container garden by growing organic vegetables successfully.

With all of the talking the past few months about vegetables and fruits, meat. It makes
you wonder, what is safe to buy in the stores, I believe more and more people will be
turning to their own gardens. I hear people aren’t eating out as much as they once did.
Course part of that is the economy and now also the gas prices.

Until Next Time,

BE GOOD TO YOURSELF, STAY HEALTHY and BE HAPPY!!!

Best Wishes
